City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

The Mortal Instruments

When Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with odd markings. This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons---and keeping the odd werewolves and vampires in line. It's also her first meeting with gorgeous, gold-haired Jace. Withing twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in an ordinary mundane like Clary? And how did she suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

==I read the Twilight series I'd say about 5 times each. Plus watching the movie over and over. I didn't want to leave. The story was too perfect, how could ANYTHING even compare? I'd walk around, not knowing what to do. My love for books reignited...

I told my friend Jenn about it. She told me about The Mortal Instruments. She was in the middle of reading the last of that series and I saw how hung up she was on the characters. She really felt for them. She even mentioned that Stephanie Meyer herself loved the series.

So after seeing the book online, Stephanie Meyer praise right on the cover of the book, I thought I'd give it a try. If the author of my favorite books loved it, it couldn't be bad, right? And did ya catch that book cover.....drool.

It was hard for me at first to get into it, but after a few chapters, it took off. I read non-stop until it was finished. I couldn't wait for more.
