The Evil Within by Nancy Holder

WARNING: SOMETIMES EVIL IS CLOSER THAN IT APPEARS.

possessions: me
- one full-blown obsession with floppy-haried, gorgeous, perfect Troy (still)
- nightmares, endless, terrifying nightmares, oh god someone help me.

possessions: them
- everything I've ever wanted.
- killer instincts.

Lindsay thought she left Marlwood Academy behind for good. The girls there aren't just mean, they're evil-possessed by spirits of the dead. Then Lindsay discovers that she is possessed! Now she must go back to Marlwood to free herself once and for all.

But the secrets of Marlwood run deep...and the evil is much closer than Lindsay knows.

==I was glad that the author dived more into the other characters. Developed their personalities. Dumping some of the spookiness was good too. I LOVED Miles and wish he did more bad things. I was disappointed that it ended before we could see more of Miles. It left alot of questions and to see the next one wouldn't be out till Spring of 2011....=(

I will continue to read this series, I just hope we can get past her being possessed by Celia==

Possessions by Nancy Holder

possessions: me
-one map of the creepy Marlwood campus
-a bad feeling about this place

possessions: them
- far more than they deserve.
- terrifying eyes.

New girl Lindsay can't figure out what's going on with Mandy, and
her followers, or what Mandy's been doing down by the dark, fro-
zen lake. But what Lindsay doesn't know can hurt her. Long ago,
someone at Marlwood made a grave mistake-and a lot of girls died.
Now spirits who were silent for two hundred years have awoken.
They want to take possession of what's theirs. They want revenge.

Who will be next?

==This is a new kind of story for me. I read about occult but not being possessed by a ghost. I think some of the descriptions were a little too sensory. A few times, I was sick to my stomache reading this book. And I admit, I was freaked out by that stupid wheelchair. I liked it though and will read the next. ==

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

MY NAME IS KATNISS EVERDEEN.
WHY AM I NOT DEAD?
I SHOULD BE DEAD.

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capital. district 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capital. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans--except Katniss.

The sucess of the r4ebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. she must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost.

==I anticipated this book for so long. I hate to say that I was disappointed. But am willing to give it another try and read it again. I'll redo my thoughts after I reread it.==
